Drew & Drew
LLP currently has two members: Dean A. Drew and Dean
M. Drew.
Dean A. Drew is a graduate of the
University of Buffalo (B.A., 1950) and
the University of Buffalo Law School (LL.B., 1953). At the time the
University of Buffalo Law School became a part of the
State University system in 1968, and was
re-inaugurated as the State University of New York at
Buffalo Law School in 1968, he was
awarded a J.D. degree.
He joined his parents, the late DeSilver G. Drew and
Edna M. Drew, in the Drew & Drew law firm in 1953 and has
practiced there since.
Dean A. Drew is admitted to practice in New
York and the United States District
Court for the Western District of New York. Over the past 50
years, his practice has been concentrated in estate planning
and probate and real estate law, and litigation involving
those areas at the trial and appellate levels. He is a member of the
New York State Bar Association (Trusts and Estates
Section). He
served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II where he
was trained as a pilot.
Although no longer actively flying, he holds an FAA
pilot certificate.
He is a Life Member of the Board of Directors of Kevin
Guest House, a welcome house and support facility in Buffalo, New
York for families of cancer victims receiving
treatment at the Roswell Park Cancer Center. (Kevin Guest House was
founded in the 1960’s and became the model for what was later
to become the system of Ronald McDonald Houses throughout the
United States.)
Dean M. Drew is a graduate of the State
University of Buffalo (B.A., 1972) and the State University of
New York at Buffalo Law School (J.D.,
1977). He joined
his father, Dean A. Drew, in the Drew and Drew law firm in
1978. Dean M. Drew is admitted to practice in New
York and the United States District
Court for the Western District of New York. His practice is
concentrated in the area of aviation law where he handles a
broad range of matters, and litigation in that area at the
trial and appellate levels. Dean M. Drew is a member of the
American Bar Association (Air and Space Forum), the Aviation
Insurance Association, the Bar Association of Erie County
(Federal Practice Committee), the Lawyer Pilots Bar
Association and the NTSB Bar Association. He is a panel attorney
in the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) Legal
Services Plan. He
holds a commercial pilot certificate for single- and
multi-engine aircraft with instrument rating and high-altitude
endorsement and is active as a pilot. Dean M. Drew is active
in the Buffalo affiliate of Habitat
for Humanity International as a volunteer construction site
supervisor.
